Featured in this documentary are Congressman Alcee Hastings, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Congressman Danny Davis.

Don’t Call Me ‘Oreo’ - ONA Student Newsroom

My stomach would do backflips and a knot would form in my throat every time a classmate cupped their hands to the side of their mouths and called me America’s favorite cookie. My family immigrated to Miami in the 1980s from Haiti, the world’s first Black Republic. At the time, Haitians were part of a group called “four H Club” accused of spreading AIDS: hemophiliacs, heroin addicts, homosexuals and Haitians.

Chris Chestnut Takes Stand

Role: Videographer, Wrote VO/SOT Gainesville attorney Chris Chestnut testified this afternoon in the Alachua Courthouse on day five of the Baker Versus Chestnut Civil Suit. Chestnut formerly represented Emanuel Baker, who was left paralyzed in 2012 after a telephone pole fell on him while on the job. Baker is suing Chestnut for charging excessive fees involving the $8 million dollar settlement.

Nathalie Dortonne

Nathalie Dortonne received her Bachelors in Journalism and African American Studies from the University of Florida. Her African American Studies senior thesis was entitled "Breaking the Mainstream Stereotypes: The Role of Black Women Image Creators."

Nathalie served as a legislative intern in the Florida Capitol for Representative Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed (District 92) and Senate Democratic Leader Chris Smith (District 31). Nathalie spent the summer of 2014 in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Congressional intern. As a Digital Public Affairs Fellow, Nathalie created content and social media campaigns for The 316 Group. She was a news intern at ABC-affiliate WCJB TV20 in Gainesville, Fla. Nathalie is also the winner of the American Society of News Editors Picture Freedom Contest, 2015 National Association of Black Journalists' Student Multimedia Project Fellowship recipient, 2015 National Association of Black Journalists Salute to Excellence Collegiate Winner Photography - Single Image, and the 2014 recipient of the Radio Television and Digital News Foundation Carole Simpson scholarship. Nathalie participated in the 2015 Politico Journalism Institute, 2015 Excellence in Journalism Conference, and the 2015 Online News Association student newsroom. She worked as a network program scheduler assistant for CNN International/CNN en Español at the CNN headquarters in Atlanta, GA. While at CNN, Nathalie wrote several stories and two African Voices packages. Her viral story about 'The dangers of poverty porn' made the CNN homepage and garnered over a million views. Nathalie was interviewed about her CNN poverty porn story on TBS eFM’s “This Morning,” an English-language radio program in Seoul, South Korea. Past guests included: Malcolm Gladwell (Author of Tipping Point & Outliers), Noam Chomsky(MIT Linguist & Philosopher), Julian Assange (founder of Wikileaks), Jules A. Hoffmann (Winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize for Medicine), Jeremy Rifkin (Economic and social theorist), Alexander Stubb (former Prime Minister of Finland), Jared Diamond (Author of "Guns, Germs, and Steel), Angus Deaton (leading microeconomist), among other notables. She was also interviewed by News Talk 770 - Calgary's Breaking News and Conversation station. Nathalie worked as a marketing assistant for Allied MOXY on the Almost Christmas and Fences campaigns.

Recently, Nathalie was a director's assistant to Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace, Complete Unknown), on the Netflix movie Come Sunday.
